Staff

Our staff are fully committed and qualified to look after children of all ages. The staff holds or are working towards a level 3 Early Years qualification with our manager holding a level 4 diploma. We ensure that all members of staff are up to date on policies and training to help enhance their knowledge and skills and to help support the setting. Additionally, each room will always have a room leader and a first aider, and all staff who prepare food hold a current food hygiene certificate. Any member of staff that wishes to train to a higher level is encouraged to do so. This has led to our team being a highly skilled and motivated workforce.

Safeguarding

Safeguarding children is a massive part of our role. Through both big and small actions, we will ensure that your children are safe with us. From clean bedding to well-prepped food, we take into consideration everything that could impact our ability to keep the children safe. For your peace of mind, we ensure our team are DBS checked yearly. Staff working with us are fully trained in safeguarding and know how to identify when a child’s behaviour is different than usual. They are also aware of how to report any concerns that they may have regarding any child within our care. The poster below shows details for reporting concerns about a child’s safety.

SEN

Kathy Marchant is our lead SENCO at the pre-school and nursery. She will always be made aware if a member of staff has any concerns regarding the children in our care. Kathy is here to help and offer further support on topics the children are struggling with, as well as provide you with appropriate recourses such as a speech and language therapist.

There are a range of professionals that we can contact or recommend to you who will help support your child and their learning as well as help provide them with the best start.

Staff Training

All staff members undertake Pediatric First Aid training, food hygiene, safeguarding, manual handling, and health and safety training, which are all updated every 3 years. The manager Kathy takes a full level 4 safeguarding course every 2 years and maintains up to date with regular termly meetings and courses for SENCO. The staff has also completed several courses around Covid safety, PREVENT, safe sleep for babies, child mental health and autism awareness, and more!

Key Person

When enrolling your child with us, they will be allocated a key person. This is a system we use to ensure your child has a member of staff to bond with and support your child’s learning. They will plan and monitor their progress and keep you updated with this.

Meet The Team

All members of staff are required to hold a current food hygiene certificate, paediatric first aid, Health and Safety, and child protection awareness. These are updated every 3 years.
