Our Staff

Staff either hold or are working towards a level 3 Early Years qualification. Our Manager holds a level 5 NVQ and our Deputy a level 4 NVQ. At Sunny Days we recognise the need for practitioners to regularly enhance their knowledge of child development and learning as new research develops practice. Therefore each practitioner completes at least 24 hours training annually in order to support their knowledge and practice.

We encourage practitioners who wish to train to a higher level. This has led to a highly skilled and motivated workforce.

Each room has a room leader and first aider on duty at all times. All staff who prepare food hold a current food hygiene certificate. Practitioners are supported by Gemma, the manager and Early Years Professional, and the family services training team.

At Sunny Days we aim to keep the members of staff working in each room stable as much as possible, to allow the children to form attachments to staff and feel safe and secure whilst in our care. There will be times when staff are moved for operational reasons.

All staff have done basic Food Hygiene and First Aid training which is updated every 3 years
