Our local, committee-led nursery and pre-school is a registered charity (1028488). We use a range of interactive fundraising opportunities to raise money for equipment and recourses. The resources are then used to maintain our school and improve learning opportunities for our children.

A committee is a group of volunteers who are connected to the setting. We require an active committee to stay open with at least 6 members. If you are interested in joining, please let us know.
Within a committee, there are 3 main roles that you could get involved in. These include a chairperson who would lead the group and work closely with the settings manager, a treasurer who supports all financial aspects, and a secretary who takes and records minutes in the meetings. We hope to have enough members so that we can fill vice positions where possible.
You will be involved in a range of duties as the committee, including pay increases to planning events. You will support with policies, procedures, employment, safety, and the staff’s welfare. Fundraising is another large part of this role.
We hold meetings in the evening at the setting usually every 6-8 weeks which is a perfect opportunity to catch up and discuss future events and opportunities for the setting. In between meetings, we communicate through email.
We have had the opportunity to hold a range of fundraising activities and events, below is information on what we have done previously to raise money for the setting.
We have our own Facebook charity page where we keep parents, families, and the community up to date regarding our fundraising. We have held fundraising auctions on this page which have been very popular.
We were able to raise funds to purchase our shelter for the outdoor area. This took a long time to achieve but our team and children were very happy when we could tick this off our wish list.
Funds were raised by the local community for high visibility jackets complete with our logo. This allows us to walk around safely within the village and on outings.
Previously, we held a charity fashion show. Ladies were invited to see the fashion and could later purchase the clothing. This helped us to purchase equipment and resources for the setting including a range of role-play equipment.
We worked alongside St Day School to gain funds for Forest Schooling. This allows us to have weekly sessions which are all planned out for the children with a Forest School teacher. The funding also enables us to purchase some gardening equipment and tools for the children to use.
