There are many things you can help with as a parent to ensure the best school experience for your child. We will ask for information regarding dietary requirements to ensure they are met. Also, for our pre-schoolers, we offer t-shirts that show the Sunny Days logo. On this page, you can view our policies and see what your child needs to bring.

We pride ourselves on offering the children healthy and well-portioned meals. We follow the Nippers Nutritional program, in which we were graded level 5, to ensure beneficial snacks and meals. The staff are now also completing the Healthy Under 5’s program. Throughout the day, the children get full access to milk and water whenever they need it.
Due to our training, we have been able to appoint a member of staff as a lead practitioner for Healthy Eating programs. They will communicate with lead professionals and ensure we stay on track with our menus and options.
We offer a set menu that changes each week to add variety. This helps to give the children a well-balanced and portioned meal. Due to us being a charity, we provide lunches at the cost of £1.60 per lunch.
What’s more, the children are able to take part in cooking and growing with us in the setting. They are also given opportunities to select healthy options and assist in the preparation of their meals. We always go above and beyond to ensure the children feel involved with everything we do here at Sunny Days.
You can purchase our t-shirts which include the Sunny Days logo. These are miniature versions of our staff’s uniform t-shirts and they can help the children to feel included while matching with their peers and staff members. We offer sizes including 3-4 years (which is also suitable for 2-year-olds) and 4-5 years.

We will let you know if your child needs to bring anything different than their everyday items. You will be notified of this either in person or through our regular Parents’ Newsletters.
The children love to play outside in sunny weather. Whilst we do make full use of all shaded areas, we ask that you supply sun cream and hats for your child. On warm, sunny days, please ensure that your child has sun cream applied before arriving at our nursery and pre-school.
